Virtual
tour under construction...

The Kalamazoo River Watershed is formed by two different
springs a few miles south of Jackson, Michigan.
In fact the headwaters for the Kalamazoo, the Grand River,
and
the St. Joseph River all are located within five miles of each other -
which
must have been a nautical highway interchange area for seasonal
traveling
inhabitants of this primitive region. Once
the North and South branches of the Kalamazoo meet in
Albion, the
river winds westerly towards Kalamazoo, passing through the cities of
Marshall,
Augusta, Battle Creek, and Comstock along its meandering route. Inside the city limit of Kalamazoo it veers
north towards Plainwell, then west again to Otsego, Allegan, New
Richmond, and
ultimately the mouth into Lake Michigan at Saugatuck.
